    Hard to believe Liz envied AVA. Liz I am sure knew she was a beauty and her eyes were the most beautiful with double eyelashes. Liz WAS short and short waisted so in the overall figure department there were many better shapes than hers.

    And Marilyns figure was beautiful. Unique. Feminine and not vulgar in any way. Marilyn was very pretty. Many of those stars were not that special if you took away THEIR make up. That being said I think much of Marilyns appeal WAS her figure.

    Tierney was very attractive younger but looked mannish as he got older. She also put on weight. IMO more than AVA who really looked fine to me.

    Upon seeing Ava Gardner on the MGM lot, a young Elizabeth Taylor went home and locked herself in her room crying because she felt she could never be as beautiful as Ava Gardner. Liz proved herself wrong, but Ava does has a unique kind of photogenic charisma that keep one riveted to her on the screen.
