Nasa has invented the T-RAD Device, a.k.a. Goo Gun. Astronauts aboard the STS-120 will test the effectiveness of the pre-ceramic polymer in its ability to repair damaged shuttle tiles. To make connections to the mission Dr. Wehrell-Grabowski teaches you how to make your own silly putty, also a polymer at home.

  • it is called slime

  • maskerad6,

No it's not slime in this video. I am demonstrating how to make silly putty using liquid starch and glue. Check out my diaper science for slime recipe.

Slime - polyvinyl acohol and a cross-linker such as a borax solution.

  • in wat is usally liqiud scratch like in wat things for examle: windex or something?

  • liquid starch can be found in the laundry detergent section. It takes wrinkles out of materials.

  • hello? do all deturgents have borax in them? or only sta flo n 20 mule? could i use bleach or tide or anything else?

  • You can read the ingredients on the various detergents.. You need a consistency like liquid starch plus it needs the borax.

Tide, bleach etc.. will not work.

Over and out.. Tropical Storm Fay

  • which one is better? The one from borax or the starch?? I need an answer couse I'm going to the supermarket,

  • it's used for taking wrinkles out of clothing and making it stiffer depending on how much you use. I use the spray starch on my clothing.

  • what is liquid starch used for?

  • actually, I lived in UK,now i live in Brazil, and don't know what to buy, because here people don't speak English, so i don't know what the name for starch is.

What does it do? Is there anything to use instead of starch and borax?
