The Warm Springs Tribes, through their attorneys, have unduly influenced the Bureau of Indian Affairs' process for reviewing a proposed casino in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. Tribal attorneys were allowed to view and edit NEPA documents before the rest of the public even saw the documents. As a result, the official agency documents are heavily skewed in favor of building a casino in the Gorge.
This is an interview with Andy Giegerich, a reporter at the Portland Business Journal who first broke the story. The interview aired on KGW 8 at 8:15 a.m. on July 26, 2008.
