During the 1994 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Rangers found themselves down 3 games to 2 in a best of 7 series against New Jersey. Mark Messier guarenteed a victory in Game 6 and followed through with his promise. A hat trick gave his Rangers the 4-2 victory.

i was at this game this was the UNBELIEVEBLE proformances in NHL history he GARENTEED a win and tied the series and he scored ALL of the Rangers 3 goals that night...agaist the BEST team in the league and the GREAT Martin Broduer....in all my years in hockey i have never seen a proformance like this the crowd which was mostly Devil fans was stunnded the following Saturday the rangers eliminated the Devils abnd the rest is history agaist the canucks i have never seen this since.

Most clutch performance I've ever seen. Mark Messier guaranteed the win, did it in a Superheroic fashion - I like it when they are brash, back it up, and proven. Rangers win game 6 - Messier adds the Hat Trick.

This was the greatest game I ever saw a hockey player have! I don't care how many records Gretzky has! Gretzky COULD NOT WIN without Messier! Messier won without Gretzky TWICE!

@broadstreet2 Flyers fan! HAHAHA! I met Mark Messier at the play by play club in the garden back in 94. He is a class act! Wanted to buy him a shot but he said no. Asked him if he wanted a beer and I bought him a Rolling Rock. He sat there and bullshitted with us for about 20 minutes. My friend grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him screaming "I HATE THE ISLANDERS! YOU GOT TO WIN THE CUP TO SHUT THEM FUCKERS UP!" Security came over and Mark said, "It's okay he's a fan!" Great guy!
