@CycolacFan That is the engine stop knob. Put it out to stop the engine, push it in before you start it. Turning off the ignition will only disable the PTO.

I know very little about these trucks, what's the red control button on the dashboard that you moved before starting? Choke or brake maybe? And what is the lever on the column for - looks like a turn signal stalk? Thanks.

I actually had to replace the jack shaft that goes between the two rear axles. Back in 2002 we had a guy get into to the truck and went to take off with the trolly brake still on and blew the ujoint and the shaft apart. I just shook my head an went to the parts store. lol
