Would you recommend this, or SFC 3?

It depends on if you want to mess around with the newer ships or not. Otherwise they're really the same game, just different era's. I personally have yet to play SFC 3. I enjoyed SFC 1 and 2 though very much.

I remember playing the hell out of this game with the GT. We played Hydran ships and the Lyrans did have a really hard time. Some Lyran players became massively skilled despite how underpowered their ships were. In SFC2, they could really ruin the Kzinti's (mirak's) day.

Lyrans had the worst ships in the game. The ESG was massively underpowered compared to other heavy weapons and they didn't get missiles or fighters to really compensate. Their battleship in comparison, was also outgunned by even some other races Dreadnoughts!

Can you still play with the same ships as StarFleet 2 or is Orion like a seperate campaign and all?
