okay i'm not a communist or anything but i think soviet era weapons are the best because they are cheap and durable.

Thank you for your very good videos on taking apart and assembling a Makarov. I used it tonight to install a new slide stop.

Is there anyway to less the trigger pull in this weapon?

Very good video. Everything worked perfectly as described. A little fiddely at times to re assemble but doable. Love the gun. I have the Baikal IJ-70 with adjustable rear sights. Very accurate.

great videos OP!!! every thing was gravy till i got to getting the leaf spring aligned right. i pretty much just got lucky about the 5th or 6th time pulling it out and resetting it. next time im gonna really see how it lines up(i got bad lighting right now). i pulled up a cross section and everything for that part.

@NIKK3800 i think i know what you mean.... are you talking about the little spring/pin that "clicks" into the notches??? if so i was confused too the first time i took mine apart, but what i did was push on it so the spring slightly catches the lip/edge of the slide and repeating gently with pressure to work it into place. np.
posted 2 yrs ago huh? well maybe someone else will read this.

the decocker on mine I love, be out shooting with my sons and something haps that we have to stop shooting, simply put the safety on and it hammer goes down without firing.... but I still do it with it pointed in a safe direction, never has it fired while using the decocker... great vid.. thanks... btw, love my makarov.. see my vids. :) tc
i have trouble getting the safety to get back into place, got any advice on that?

Make sure the firing pin is lined up correctly. If it's not just right, it won't go back in.

I thought that Makarovs had red plastic grips with stars on them.

most do... this is a Bulgarian commercial model (produced in the late 90s, i believe) so the grips are a bit different.

im really considering getting a mak, probably russian model, since it is a russian handgun im not sure id feel right with for example, an east german one, even though they are of higher quality, itll probably be a carry gun, i have no problems carrying 9x18 or .380, i was wondering though, ever find any decent, preferable synthetic holsters for the mak?

Most generic holsters fit the bill. I use an Uncle Mikes when I carry mine.
