When child & adolescent prescriptions of antidepressants went down 20% (in response to these same sort of hysterical urban legends) that child&adolescent SUICIDES went up 17%. Those are people who DIED! They lost their LIVES and all their tomorrows. Their parents lost their CHILDREN. Now if you want to abandon your talking-head soundbites and let doctors practice medicine, my patients would appreciate it.

What ever Dr. these stooge phyciatrists dream up all these disorders prescribe all these meds get people strung out or addicted so then they prescribe so other med to help them deal with the addiction while all the time big pharma just keeps the money coming in. Vicious circle. Answer me this when was the last time pharma actually came up with a cure for anything and not just something to treat symtoms?

I've always stayed away from anti'd's but you still have to deal with the depression I just didnt want to be dependant on them and of course side effects could make depression worse in some. There are alternatives that do help.

As usual, what they failed to tell you is that most depression can be beaten by taking a good multiple vitamin and mineral tablet high in B Vitamins. If that doesn't work, try taking 2 tablets per day. This often works in a day or two but if it doesn't don't quit. If it doesn't help, it doesn't hurt and may help with other health challenges.

I lived on pills for 15 years . It took me 14 months to get off of them. I was able to get married and live a healthier happier life.
