  • @polymath7 "Italian Concerto" is the popular name for the composition originally titled as "Concerto nach Italienischem Gusto" (Concerto after the Italian taste) composed by J. S. Bach for harpsichord solo. This is definitely an arrangement for strings and oboe.

  • love the whale man ! :D

  • @alienalienss , it couldn't be called sonata due to this name is going to appear in the next period, the Classicism, and the Classic stage is later that the Baroque stage. It has a Rondo-Sonata form, but it isn't completly correct call it this way.

  • @alienalienss Uh, is that why it's not called the Italian *sonata*?

By the way I'd completely forgotten about this performance. Thanks for reminding me of it, even if inadvertently.

  • genial albrecht mayer!!!

  • toujours aussi beau !!

  • yes, is a klavier concert

  • Very interesting to hear this performed by an orchestra.

     Is it Bach's own transcription?
