n part 2b of our series on the Spirituality of the rising LDS generation, Sunstone interviews Ashley Sanders -- recent BYU graduate, philosopher, English major, activist, and one of the principal organizers for the 2007 BYU Alternative Commencement.
We learn how to maximize financial portfolios. Why not be the same way about our deep seeded beliefs. Maximizing the greatest spiritual potential is really a human thing not a conservative or lib thing. That to me denotes that some members don't want to be deeper and I don't think were supposed to be that way. I think the GA's understand that and would love us all to be more Ashleyesq.
So do you feel that conservatives in the church don't like to think or reach beyond the basic principles we so easily talk about each week. I guess I mean do you feel we should not reach beneath the surface of our principles to realize why we have such a hard time applying them. I think that holds us back from knowing how to internalize our gospel principles.
Boy, I don't know where you found Ashley but she is intellectually smokin hot. She is purely fantastic. I love it. I feel 70% of who she does and feel that our generation will infuse much of those spiritual growth platoes as we mature as a religion. I truly believe that.
As I have seen younger bishops and If I ever am I think our modern spiritual evolution will be more identified as a custom experience based on the pursuit of ideas and how we arrive to what we believe even when we end up at the same place or conclusions.
But you wouldn't be able to make a viable legal case against Obama for committing war crimes.
Also, Ashley supports Nader. It's not a partisan issue.

I get so sick of this.
Obama came to our campus and we weren't allowed to protest(not that I wanted to).
No one was even allowed to have signs etc!
Please QUIT pretending it is BYU!!

To a sheep it would seem like brain bending. For the rest of us who actually use our brains, pretty basic.

I think the GAs are having a good chuckle over all of this. Anarchist and Mormon, too? That's some major brain bending!
