My mother was complaining about lower leg pain (history of hypertension, diabetes, extensive heart disease.heart attack)....Went to see GP he said she had neuropathy, ordered no ABI test,arterial ultrasound etc....palmed us off for weeks with tablets that were not working, in the end in agony, had to have a bypass and huge complications since..if he had ordered a ABI test/Ultrasound etc, she could have had angioplasty when the artery was not badly blocked...it was not neuropathy, it was PAD.

Seems like the patient ought to be lying flat for pressure measurements to avoid error due to hydrostatic pressure.
