Later into the cycle and we catch the last few tumbles before the machine goes into distribution.

This is the distribution that I remember on my parents machine - very sudden and within a second everything is plastered to the sides of the drum.
None of your 20minutes of attempting to balance a load, that you get with modern machines.

Accompanying this is the trademark Hoover water cascades down the door and a bit of pump rumble.

p.s the MTH keymatic style timer really comes into play, as the machine goes into distribution. click, click clickety click!

  • You know after the drain and distribution ,was that the first rinse?

  • I cant honestly remember. Was possibly the end of or start of first rinse. Cant make out where the white indicator line has got round to.

  • My mum had this machine before it packed up and she got a Bendix Autowasher Electronic 1000

  • its amazing just how many were out there. uber rare now - not surprising as the oldest of these machines would date from mid 1970 and would be approaching 40 years old. memories!
