  • I am an atheist and I have no problems with the idea that a historical Jesus existed. The questions were very slanted in one direction in this debate. When you get into the parts of the bible that focus on the miracles and the resurrection it become a whole different story. If there is a god who created our Universe it would be a highest insult to this being to say he had any thing to do with the immoral bible. Religion is a political tool used to control the masses.

  • Craig Evans admits: 'Someone tampered with 1John.... The doctrine of the trinity created the text, not the other way around' This is a HUGE admission and opens the door to all manner of later theological tampering. Ehrman didnt make enough of this which could have totally destroyed the faith of the entire audience. Ehrman won of course because the other side is impossible to defend.

  • @touahmed No, but it appears you did.

  • Thank God for you tube! Pun intended. I have learned more from scholarly debates, scientists, rational thinkers, ministers, and silly nieve followers who quote silly Bible superstition that they and myself were indocrinated with as children before we could really appreciate what we were taught. After many months of listening and learning from great thinkers,I can conclude, I am not a Christian! Free at last, free at last!

  • @parousia555 Truth is that Christians really don't care if their beliefs are true or not. They have made up their minds already that they will just ignore any facts presented to them however compelling. When confronted by someone who actually knows what they are talking about the Christian response is to start laughing hysterically and mocking because that individual because they can't reply in an informed polite manner. Pathetic. Truly pathetic.

  • @bayreuth79 On the other hand, one might argue that the originals were imperfect, and divine inspiration extended to the later revision and final redaction of the texts.

  • @touahmed One of thee most ignorant and uneducated comments I have ever seen

  • @rb0397 What?

  • Bart Ehrman makes a good point when he says that if God could make sure that the original texts of the NT were preserved from error he could make sure that the subsequent copies of the NT texts would continue to be preserved from error. God is, after all, omnipotent and omnibenevolent. There is sufficent evidence to prove that the NT texts were not preserved from subsequent error; and therefore there does appear to be a problem for Christian belief in these texts.

  • @jim6584 But u have a problem if u r an atheist cuz then u believe u came from monkeys. So where the monkeys came from? bananas?

  • Two thousand years latter and still no Jesus and yet you christian still think this dead guy is still going to come back lol wow how many years do you need to get that he's dead and not coming back.

  • @osiris7nz This doesn't mean that the Quran is uncorrupted if anything it suggests the same and also it comes from American sources - funny Muslims would accept this :-)
