I was in Kissimmee when it hit. It knocked the end of our hotel out and it took us four days to get home as Sandford airport was wrecked. The national Guard arrived the day after. I was really scared for a few hours while it was overhead.

Hahaha I evacuated Saint Petersburg because Charley was heading straight for us. Went to Orlando, not only did it hit us there still a cat.1 but it turned and hardly rained at all at my home. A cat 1 is good fun, but were it hit down in Punta Gorda was decimated.

I flew down into Florida for a vacation the day Hurricane Charley hit, lol.
Nobody thought anything would even happen because until about mid-afternoon it was all sunny and warm. I think it got really bad around nighttime for us, though, because I can remember being angry that the power went out because I was trying to watch the premiere of Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. XD
