Que excelente reportaje! Realmente creo que Funes se esta enfatizando en el problema real y su raiz: crear mas oportunidades mediante el fortalecimiento de la educacion. Todos los presidentes anteriores descuidaron esta area para beneficiar la empresas privadas y la grandes familias de mucho dinero olvidandose del pueblo. No es una guerra facil pero es el inicio de una nueva era de cambios! Que viva El Salvador!

I am of left wing thinker... but I don't let my political views interfere with the truth that this guy... is just another regular guy taking advantage of it's position... Which is what I believe most salvadoreans would do if we were in charge... Honestly... seeing what is happening... would you stay in the shit hole or take a trip to disney????

I agree with you 100% and I emphasize with you being in the same position of an immigrant student. Although I have my citizenship...

I always thought those little things matter... such as environmental conscience make a big difference. Also I believe El Salvador has lost its identity... we try to copy too much and the things that we are proud of are very trivial. ( pupusas y futbol??)

@edherndzx: Tiene mucha razón, pero no hable tanto de ignorancia y analfabetas, ni mucho menos de la forma mediocre que se escribe el inglés y el español. Vea su propia escritura. Fracaso se escribe con S, no con Z. Tampoco se usa una mayúscula con los gentilicios a menos que sea la primera palabra de una oración. Las palabras país e inglés llevan tildes diacríticas. Y la Ñ, bueno, también se escribe con una vírgula (a lo mejor usted le dice palito de la Ñ).

Yo soy Salvadoreno y estudio en Estados Unidos. Es muy triste el alto nivel de ignorancia que existe en El Salvador. Eso es reflejado en la forma vulgar en que se habla, la forma mediocre que se escribe en ingles o espanol, la falta de apoyo para erradicar los analfabetas, y el irrespeto al medio ambiente. No hay excusas que el fracazo del pais todos somos culpables.

I live in El Salvador. I'm sorry to inform that the country has never been worse since this guy took power. Crime, drug traffic, corruption, economic stagnation, political and judicial instability have all gotten worse in the last two years. Corruption rises up to the presidency. A few months ago, some business man lent him a Learjet so he could take his family to Disney World. What did he give the businessman in exchange?? I wouldn’t trust a word he says.
