Finance Spokesman Bill English talks about the significance of Australia's tax cuts for New Zealand, saying New Zealanders have a choice. Surpluses and the economy make tax cuts possible here and the gap between the two countries is huge and growing. "New Zealand just needs to decide that it wants lower taxes - we can have lower taxes - and that will help us keep our people here."

  • Dr jekyll Cullens tax plan , here it is , Tax his tractor, tax his mule; tell him, taxing is the rule.

Tax his oil, tax his gas, tax his notes, tax his cash

Tax him good and let him know, that after taxes, he has no dough.

If he hollers, tax him more; tax him till he's good and sore.

Tax his coffin, tax his grave, tax his sod in which he's laid.

Put these words upon his tomb, "Taxes drove him to his doom."

Once he's gone, we won't relax. We'll still collect inheritance tax

  • Nup. I came here because it's just not as far south. (brrrrrr...)

  • Haha good point. I'm still in NZ, but I know so many people who have moved to australia for one of two reasons: Sick of Helen Clark and the Labour Party, or because they earn more and pay less tax for the same type of jobs in australia.

  • New Zealanders have already decided we want lower taxes, thats why there's so many of us in Australia
