Kim Yong Nam Meets Ethiopian President
Addis Ababa, July 27 (KCNA Correspondent) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, paid a courtesy call on Girma Wolde-Giorgis, President of Ethiopia, on July 27. Present there were Minister of Public Health Choe Chang Sik, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hyong Jun, Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Myong San and DPRK Ambassador to Ethiopia O Ul Rok. Also present there were Minister of Water Resources Asfaw Dingamo, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nega Tsegaye and other officials concerned. Kim had a friendly talk with the Ethiopian president.

Kim Yong Nam Entertained
Addis Ababa, July 27 (KCNA Correspondent) -- Ethiopian President Girma Wolde-Giorgis arranged a banquet in honor of Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly on an official goodwill visit to Ethiopia, at the Presidential Palace on Friday. Present there on invitation were Minister of Public Health Choe Chang Sik, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hyong Jun, Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Myong San, DPRK Ambassador to Ethiopia O Ul Rok and other suite members. Present there were Minister of Water Resources Asfaw Dingamo, ministers of State for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry and Water Resources and other officials concerned. An art performance was given there.

Kim Yong Nam Meets Chairman of AU Committee
Addis Ababa, July 27 (KCNA Correspondent) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a cordial talk with Alpha Oumar Konare, chairman of the Committee of the African Union, who paid a courtesy call on him in Addis Ababa on July 27. Recalling that President Kim Il Sung showed particular concern for the peoples of the African countries, the chairman looked back with deep emotion the days when he had the honor of being received by the President during his visit to the DPRK in the capacity of the Malian president in 1992. Kim Jong Il has developed the relations of friendship with the African countries true to the intention of the President, he said. Expressing full support to the DPRK in its just cause of building a great prosperous powerful nation and achieving the reunification of the country, he stressed that the Korean people's struggle encourages the African people in their efforts to achieve the prosperity and development of the continent. Present there were Minister of Public Health Choe Chang Sik, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hyong Jun, Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Myong San and DPRK Permanent Representative at the AU O Ul Rok. Also on hand were the secretary general of the AU Committee and other officials concerned.

Talks between Kim Yong Nam and Ethiopian PM Held
Addis Ababa, July 30 (KCNA Correspondent) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, held talks with Meles Zenawi, prime minister of Ethiopia, in Addis Ababa on July 30. At the talks both sides exchanged views on the issue of boosting the friendly relations between the two countries and issues of mutual concern. Present there were Minister of Public Health Choe Chang Sik, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hyong Jun, Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Myong San and DPRK Ambassador to Ethiopia O Ul Rok. Also present there were Asfaw Dingamo, minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Ahmed, director general for Asia, Oceania and Middle East of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other officials concerned. Meanwhile, Kim visited the Ethiopian National Museum here on July 29. On July 28 he planted a tree in the compound of the Presidential Palace on the occasion of the "year of the Millennium in Ethiopia" before visiting the museum of the palace.

Inter-Sector Talks between DPRK and Ethiopia Held
Addis Ababa, July 30 (KCNA Correspondent) -- Inter-sector talks between the DPRK and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia were held in Addis Ababa on July 30. The talks were held separately between Minister of Public Health Choe Chang Sik of the DPRK and Minister of Health Tewodros Adehanom, and between Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hyong Jun and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Tekeda Alemu and between Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Myong San and Minister of State for Trade and Industry Ahmed Tusa of Ethiopia. At the talks both sides exchanged views on the issue of boosting the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in different fields as desired by the two peoples and matters of mutual concern.

Message of Thanks to Ethiopian President
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Tuesday sent a message of thanks to Girma Wolde-Giorgis, President of Ethiopia. It said: Upon leaving your Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia after successfully winding up my visit to it, I express deep thanks to Your Excellency and your friendly government and people for the cordial hospitality accorded to us. At a series of talks and conversations we had this time we had an exhaustive exchange of views on the issue of boosting the bilateral relations and matters of mutual concern. It is my belief that our visit to your country that took place under the deep care of Your Excellency and your leadership would mark an important occasion in putting the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries on a higher stage. Availing myself of this opportunity, I would like to sincerely wish Your Excellency good health and happiness and your friendly people fresh progress and prosperity.

Kim Yong Nam Leaves Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, July 31 (KCNA Correspondent) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Tuesday left Addis Ababa after winding up his official goodwill visit to Ethiopia. Kim Yong Nam and his party were seen off at the airport by officials concerned including the director general of Protocol of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry, the DPRK ambassador to Ethiopia and embassy officials.
