If anything my comment was directed at people who do that themselves, not at anyone for liking MGMT or this remix.
I completely agree with the idea that musical taste is subjective. To the point that I don't even like saying that a particular artist or song is bad/good. I just state my personal preference on it because I don't think there is such a thing as good or bad music.

Well some of what you're saying depends on how you define what a hipster is.
Regardless, I was not disparaging MGMT at all, or even people who like them. My problem is with a certain subset of their fanbase that acts like shitheads all over youtube. I love MGMT.

saw this live at lollapalooza '09. stroke of genius. it has a nice atmospheric quality with the kids melody contrasted with the 4 to the floor drop.

it's unfortunate, but a bunch of elitist retards jumped on the hipster bandwagon with bands like MGMT so if you do off-beat remixes of their songs, as Soulwax does so well, then you get a flood of shitheads in the comments.
