As usual, a vid placed here for folk who have an interest to be able to see it quickly.

Some footage from a trial of my simple hand held mount.

A pic of the mount here: http://www.waveform.eclipse.co.uk/IMAGES/CAMERA%20CRANE/STEADY%20MOUNT/STEADY...

It's just tripod where the weight has been placed as far out as possible, the legs on this Manfotto splay out, this give the inertia needed to keep it steady, I mount a still camera alongside the vid cam to add mass, it saves having to carry a seperate weight ;-)

  • btw, nice system, I erally have to try that. Maybe tomorrow. Thanks for that!

  • When you hold it by the centre column, move it rapidly from side to side, you'll be able to detect if it's off balance, just arrange your hand postion so that it is. On that one I put a foam ring on the column under the head to make it easier to locate the hand each time.

Let us know how you get on.

  • wow this is excellent! any tutorials?

    yay i'm the first viewer!

  • A link to a pic of the mount now in the description. It's just a tripod ;-)
