I want to see Adler in that deleted scene... anyone knows when we shall see the deleted scenes in a limited edition dvd? the one released in april did not have them...

Downey looks so much more like the real Sherlock Holmes than Basil Rathbone did.

Some of you guys are wrong, the movie is not based on Sherlock Holmes books. It's based on Lionel Wigram's comics. that's the reason why the main character doesn't look like the Sherlock of Conan Doyle in many ways.
The movie looks good, Downey will do a great work, I'm sure. Just watch the movie without thinking you will see a Doyle's story

I thouhgt the same after I had seen the movie. It looks like a story about superhero but not about Sherlock Holmes. Common story consists of a main guy, his girlfriend, his best friend who is always ready to help and the evil, which must be destroyed. Do not forget a great battle at the end and you get something similar to Iron man. Americans can make such films better than anybody else. But Sherlock Holmes is another story.

oh i just noticed this is a guy ritchie film, now i definitley think he should've chosen jason statham to play holmes..picture statham playing a violin come on that's worth buying a ticket right there!

it's called an INTERPRETATION people. u know, a portrayal, an elucidation, a representation...there's actually a literary term for it used in creative writing and film theory...they don't have to stick to the books exactly in fact they shouldn't. try making book into a movie, let's see if you don't lose your audience in the first five minutes bec. u followed every word in the book. better yet let's see if you can even translate every feeling, thought, sensation written into audio-video format.
