Kel-Tec labels the PF-9 as a DAO, it is not. Many other firearms that are considered DAO are also "pre-set" striker or hammer actions, such as Glock, S&W M&P, Kel-Tec, Khar etc, these are not true DAO.

  • Kel-Tec's are good paper weights.

  • @BiGBeRt3o5 Realistically a heavier gun makes a better paper weight.

  • @BiGBeRt3o5 My PF-9 (manufactured 2010) has run through close to 500 rounds without a single malfunction. Eats everything I put in it. It's thin, lightweight, relatively inexpensive, and goes bang every time I pull the trigger. Try finding a paperweight that does that.

  • The hammer's preset position is actually a little further back than that. If you look at the internals, the bottom of the hammer should drop into a lever with a u-shaped end. Sorry I can't think of the terminology right now. When you push the hammer back from it's "de-cocked" position, it should click twice.

  • THANK YOU! no else's reviews have mentioned this. excellent demonstration.

Not anymore my friend. Your information is outdated. They fixed all the problems lately. And it turns out to be reliable gun now. Not much better than any other polymer gun, but just as good.
