Not sure why all the discussion is about race and personal attacks below. It's a strange diversion from what this clip is really about. I believe the GOP and right wing conservatives would love to go back to a time where women were judged this harshly. I scares me that decades later, so many misogynists share this quack's POV.

Yes, I'm black. And yes *some* black people live in the ghetto, just like *some* white people live in trailer parks. There are also many black people, like me, who've only seen "ghetto life " on TV or in the movies and it's as far removed from our existence as life on Mars. But, hey, our lives are boring - no driveby shootings or gang warfare. Not much Hollywood material there. So although there are millions of people like me, we manage to remain invisible in America and the world.

What did you want the scene to be? She wanted pills, she needed the gynecologist. There aren't a million other things she could have done in a gynecologist's exam room. And if anyone is going to be offended I would think it would be the actress and since she did it on national TV, I don't think she minded at all. You read too much into this. It happens to women everyday and everyone knows it. It's people who have hang ups like yours that create taboos.

i think it was kind of critical to the scene she be in this position, so to demonstrate just how vile and creepy this doctor was; and how he abused his power when he threatened to take her off the pill if she became too 'promiscuous' for his liking. setting the scene is everything

Y'know what really annoys me? That on national television they show this sort of stuff. You see it all the time - the humiliating, vulnerable and highly intimate exposure of a woman undergoing a pelvic examination, as if she were a dog in a veterinarian's office. There she is, feet in stirrups, legs spread open while some male sticks a speculum in her vagina. Jesus, is nothing sacred?? Can't we have an ounce of PRIVACY, for god's sake??? Just another example of characterizing women as objec

No, society teaches us the difference between good and bad.

i dont care how i strike you. i am not talking about the individual feeling shame, i am speaking of others shaming someone for their actions. for example telling a virgin not to be a slut, simply because she now has contraception. or calling a woman a slut for having say 4 sexual partners in total. and you are the one who does not appear bright, because it was clear that i was not talking about a person feeling shame for their own actions, but being the victim of something such as "slut-shaming"

You do not strike me as a very bright individual. If shame evokes from within such actions, there is clearly something wrong. We are born with the knowledge of separating good from bad. You feel shame in accordance to doing something wrong. One would not feel ashamed for buying a car for an example, but one who stole it, would, especially when pointed out they are a thief. But please, don't take my word for it, ask around yourself. I shall say no more. I leave you to your thoughts.

they are considered such by you, you mean? not me. sexuality is a personal thing, what others think is unimportant. i do not care how many people someone sleeps with, it is not another person's role to tell them what they can and cannot do, and then shame them for it. and i will defend whoever i like, while thinking more than you

It does, however, it depends on the guy you talk to. In our society however, a girl that sleeps with 3 guys in one week is considered a slut. While a guy doing the same, considered a man. However, you have to wonder, who's at fault here. The guy or the girl. Think before you defend your own sex.

Which song is it that plays at the start of this clip? Does anyone know? It's not credited anywhere and it doesn't seem to be an original piece by David Carbonara either
