Oscar Grant's Uncle Cephus Johnson speaks to press after verdict

Oscar Grant's uncle Cephus "Uncle Bobby" Johnson speaks to mainstream media at True Vine Baptist Church in West Oakland two days after the verdict.

Johnson speaks on Johannes Mehserle's letter to the press, which he said was mischaracterized as an apology letter by the mainstream press. "This letter was not addressed to ... the Grant Family," Johnson said. "The media seems to think this letter was coming to us. It's a ploy. Just like he faked a cry on the stand, he's sending out a fake letter to the public. It's garbage."

Johnson also thanks the coalition of activists in Oakland and Los Angeles that contuned to push for justice for his nephew, Oscar Grant, who was murdered by a BART police officer on the platform of the Fruitvale BART station January 1, 2009.

what good is all of this finger pointing gonna do for oscar & even Mehserle?? - C'mon people I just can't find it in my heart to say Mehserle decided to wake up that day next to his pregnant wife(which she had their the next day) & said hey I'm gonna go kill a strange black guy & destroy not only my life & my families but that of a strange black mans life along with his families _ I can understand oscars family is angered - But..who are they to say how Mehserle should Mourn??
