Light magic part 1

Here is a taping of the last performance of Light Magic, taped by my brother. This is from Fantasyland, which the experience has some slight differences from watching it from Main Street, like the video joyange1 posted. I added captions to a conversation that my brother and a friend, Rik, has during the intro. Speaking of which, some of the intro got cut. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this version too.

Does anybody know why the parade was discontinued?

Several reasons. A) it was too expensive to run. B) too many technical difficulties. C) Bad response and WOM from the audience. BTW, WOM means word of mouth.

I suggest they should rewrite it and make it into a stageshow at Fantasyland Theatre. They could add Tinker Bell and her friends and make a new story. Just a suggestion.

The clogging/Riverdance bit would be a tad outdated if they tried to revive the show.

Though really-Disneyland needs an end-of-the-night parade. I remember that was always a great way to end the day. Plus, in regards to the park, it helps funnel people out through the main gates (along with last-minute stops for souvenirs on Main Street).

Exactly. That is what I called it when I worked there. It was terrible.

to poor response and word of mouth of it's many problems. it was cancelled after only a 4 month run. the spectations were high after replacecing the main street electricar parade, but didn't meet them.

I remember seeing this opening night and waiting for hours on main street. Even with friends in the show, I did not like it!

Thank you for putting this up... I worked on this night. Man Scott... this parade was cursed from the day that Mike Davis saw riverdance. It actually looked good and would have worked before that. Up till 2 months before we actually went live it was a really good parade. Well, not really but it was better than that!
