  • Great piece, nice reporting! We at Scenic America are working to raise awareness on many of the issues broached in the story. We recently put together a visual essay about urban advertising in this country. You can view it by clicking on ScenicAmerica above and clicking on "A Visual Essay on Urban Sign Pollution" from our videos. Thanks!

  • I've heard figures of 17% - 20% as to the percentage of American GDP spent on advertising and P.R. Just think if that money could be redirected to the manufacture of products or to social services; the truth is even big business hates advertising, it's an arms race, but it would be illegal for them to conspire as a cartel to agree that nobody can advertise.

Everybody wins, businesses, consumers and the politicians that enact such laws! Viva Sao Paulo!

  • I'm from Metro Manila (Philippines) and I approve this video and wish for the same for my country. Less billboards; more trees!

  • It would be great if all ads disappeared everywhere, to be replaced by actual art that has no commercial ties.

  • greetings from Atlanta !

  • Heard about this in 'greatest movie ever sold' and I'm somewhat torn about the whole thing. Yes, most advertising makes a city look ugly, especially if placed near old buildings but a modern city without colourful ads does nothing but remind me of communist utopia. Brrrr

  • That mayor looks very shady

  • a very well made long report or short documentary!

  • Great reporting. Thanks!

  • And great video , by the way. I really enjoyed it. I'll check out some of your other stuff.
