Little Joe Washington has the greatest punt return ever to lose 3 yards. Outstanding footwork!

  • 5 yard loss, big deal.

  • OMG HE CAME OUT OF THOSE TACKLES ON THE SIDELINE...I HAD TO COME SEE IF I COULD GET HIGHLIGHTS OF JOE WASHINGTON SINCE THIS COMMENTATOR KEEPS TRYING TO COMPARE FINCH TO HIM

  • If your name is not Joe Washington, never ever give ground or turn your back on a punt return.

  • i think the usc fans gave him a standing ovation as he trotted off the field...it was either that or they were giving the special teams unit a standing ovation for finally getting lil joe to the ground.

  • oh i forgot he also could punt. several times on 3rd and a mile deep into their own territory running the wishbone switzer would call a quick kick with lil joe. always seemed to work.

  • no ronnie lott played about 6 years later with usc. lott played in the late 70s early 80s at usc. this game was in 1973. ive followed ou and college football since 1973 and imo lil joe washington was ou best ever rb. the guy shouldve won both of archie griffins heismans.

joe washington is the original 3rd down back. many times with the redskins on 3rd and long lil joe would spell riggins and make something happen which led to longer drives and more scores. the guy could pass as well.

  • That's some good ball security haha

  • Was that # 42 that tackled him Roni Lott

  • lil joe was oklahomas best rb ever. this guy was not only a threat to score each time he touched the ball but he was also a decent passer and at times would punt (quick kick).

3 exact moment memories (non family) for me would be the moment i heard reagan was shot, the moment i heard john lennon was killed, and lil joe 71 yard td run against mizzou (1975) on a 4th and 1 trailing 27-20 with 5 minutes left in the game. i remember exactly where the radio was in the house as i listened to it live

  • WOW! That is the damnest thing I've ever seen in football. He literally got past everyone but the last man. Even his team mates stood their shocked. What a RB.
