Oh okay. The dance club at Brock University does have competitive classes that work extremely hard. However, there are also a lot of us who are there just to have fun in the recreational classes and blow off some steam from the stress of school. It definitely helped me get through those 5 years of university haha.
No, I'm not interested. I actually don't do dance that's just for fun. I do the kind of dance where you're at the studio several hours a week working on technique and you can't get away with doing things in a sloppy way or else you'll be bumped down a level until you get better.
Thank you for your constructive critisism. This was actually a recreational group that the Brock Dance club offers. The club only offers beginner and advanced ballet, so for individuals who found it too easy in beginner, they were allowed to go to the advanced class. It is all just for fun and I apologize for misleading you. I'm not sure if you're interested in going to Brock, but you'll be happy to know that the advanced class this year was exclusive to people who had their ballet exams.
The first thing I thought when I saw this was 'this is advanced?' The beginning looks like modern (it's too gravitational to be ballet) and there were barely any times when the girls were dancing in releve. Some are bending their upper bodies in their arabesques, which is a no-no. And they need to STAY PULLED UP. Their pirouettes are very sloppy, and their rande de jambe's made me cringe; they're overcrossing in the back. They're not staying turned out at all. Come on, that's just basic ballet!
