35028 Clan Line climbs up the hill into Byfleet & New Haw station. It remains invisible until it turns the corner into the platform.

The unlucky photographers on the opposite platform have their view blocked by a goods train and a passenger train simultaneously.

Venice-Simplon Orient (VSOE) charter train from Victoria - Shalford - Victoria on 19 February 2010

The Venice Simplon-Orient Express was a private luxury train service traveling from London to Venice.

The original company was founded by James Sherwood in 1982; five years earlier, in 1977, he purchased two of the original carriages at the auction when the Compagnie International des Wagons-Lits withdrew from the Orient Express service, passing on the service to the national railways of France, Germany, and Austria. Over the next few years, he spent a total of $16 million purchasing 35 sleeper, restaurant and Pullman carriages. On 25 May 1982, the first London-Venice run was made.

  • Somtimes i feel like a plonker when im alone im on the other side of the platform (facing the way the trains coming from)

may not get the best shot but its better then getting a modern one in the way :)

    keep up the great work

  • @BIASpotter I think you do get a better video when the train is coming straight at you.

  • good one

did that go pass berryland,s and what time?

  • My local geography is a little ropey, but I

think the VSOE did not go through Berrylands

  • @peterwilson21 Steam trains may be stylish but they were jolly uncomfortable to ride on back in the 1960's

  • @ffeog4568 Thanks
