The Polish government wants to crack down on child molesters. In the future, pedophile perpetrators will have two options: Either they can go into a locked ward after finishing their prison sentence, or they can be chemically castrated and go free after serving their term. The Polish parliament has not yet ratified the draft bill. An incident in eastern Poland brought the issue to the fore: a 45-year-old man is accused of having sexually abused his daughter for years and of having fathered two children with her. Most Poles favor the harsher penalties. But some people say Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government is engaging in populism.

Sterelisation should be used on pedophiles who rape children if it can be proved beyond doubt that the individual is guilty. Drugs should also be used on the pedophiles to reduce their sex drive.
