In a time when virtually all the worlds economic problems could be solved by new technologies the present political and economic organization is irrational. This political economic organization as is, daily increases the threat of a third world war employing nuclear weapons which would destroy any chance to survive rapidly approaching natural threats, any one of which might cause the extinction of the human race. This irrational international may be the result of trauma in cultural infancy. :)

This is my 'religion' :) or "why did God make man?". The ecological purpose of intelligent technological organisms is : the preservation of biospheres and habitats, when the native planets and stars become unable to do so. Imagine the material quality of life of a society with the technological skills to fulfil the aforementioned ecological purpose. I thank whatever made this chance possible. :)

:) Is "post traumatic stress behaviour", "rational behaviour" ?. Less than five hundred years ago some societies still practiced large scale "human sacrifice". Most humans "believed" that a deity or deities controlled nature and needed human sacrifice to be placated or kept healthy. One might conclude that general human behaviour is irrational. This does not mean it must remain irrational. There are loud voices calling for rational behaviour, have been; :) ever since "the prophets".

what has this crater got to do with velikovskys flawed argument that everything mankind does is irrational?

if you believe him then it is pointless to argue with me because if everything we do is irrational then what argument could ever be made, unless by assuming you are rational? If you dont agree with this statement and agree with me that mankind is indeed rational then why argue?

If you think about it you can see its an obviously flawed and egomaniacal argument

I've followed this story for half a century, thanks to Dr. Herman Ausubel, Dr. Lloyd Motz (Sr.) who put me onto Dr. Velikovsky.

He says "man is irrational in everything he does". Well mr velikovsky is a man, so then it must be assumed that he is also irrational so then his theories must be irrational and useless, and then this tv show must also be irrational. but yet this tv show was about how religious myths are entirely rational historical accounts.
