Great question. Yes, there still are some smaller merchants out there that have not/do not fully block out the credit card #. I would question doing business with them in the future and sure, you could call VISA or MC if you see that they're not protecting a customer's info. Take caution at tradeshows, airports and other venues where your information is collected and not overly secured. However, remember too that both VISA & MC protect you if your card info is stolen.
I purchased items from a small company and learned that they don't destroy or even lock up your credit card information. My card number, expiry date and my name and address are all on a piece a of paper with them.
When i go to a store and make a purchase with my credit card, most of the numbers are block out, I'm assuming for security. Not this one particular small company
Is this company allowed to keep my credit card info? If not who do I report this to and how.
