A tribute to the KLM Fokker 50 wich will leave the fleet at the end of this winterseason. I find this a really sad happening. Fokker and KLM are like brothers and sisters.

@gipas21 No, the only remaining Fokker aircraft are the F70's and F100's, who will be replaced and scrapped within the next few years.

@Bepperamone69 No, KLM's goal is by 2014 to have a engine-only fleet, with Embraer as replacements.

Though the F50 never really touched my heart and won't ever be as close to me as the 777, I do respect it as the icon of Dutch engineering and aviation. Goodbye Fokker, now we're left with the F70 and 100. Sad that they'll be gone soon as well, the F100 was my first KLM flight ever! Imma miss the Fokker series. Stupid Embraer :P

The fokker 50 is one of my favourite aircraft. Too bad airbaltic is also gonna retire their whole fokker 50 fleet and replacing them with dash 8s. Why wold they do that. the fokker 50 has only had 2 accidents, while the dash 8 has had 10 or more.

will they be replaced by any other turboprop of similar characteristics? for example with the canadian Dash or ATR?

GOODBYE F50♥ i love you, and i am laughing, because i actually am crying, = ( i really am crying , i remember how happy i was when i flew the fokker 50, but now its no more, u where my favorite plane ever, now i cant type any longer because i cant see anything because of the tears pouring out of my eyes...

It's really sad, klm = fokker :(. I heard some of them are parked at Schiphol, missing engines, missing other stuff...It sounds like a sad sight!
