Your intent is clear and positive, and I respect it. However..... your whole viewpoint is flawed because it is built upon a wrong basic foundation.... The opposite of pride is NOT shame.

Pride is not the opposite of shame, but it's source (The source of shame is pride). The true opposite of pride is humility (being humble).

Think about it this way... only those who have pride become shameful because their pride is hurt. Besides, go look up pride in any thesaurus. Opposite = Humility.

There is a fine line between pride and shame. A lot that goes on at a gay pride parade is shameful. Public nudity, men dressed as women to degrade and mock them, people being drug around like dogs and forced to lick boots, etc.

Exactly, universalJok3r! I couldn't agree more. I'm straight, but I have A LOT of friends who aren't. The majority of them have been happily partnered for years. People need to BUTT OUT & worry about their OWN problems.
