Katana/SR scrapper AoE soloing

My Energy/Invuln. tanker friend is always making fun of me for being squishy, and never believes me when I tell him I can usually solo faster than our trio group can handle missions. So... I decided to take a trip to Terra Volta to prove him wrong.

try doing this now, i have katana sr, squishy as hell, think they nerfed it...

Divine Avalanche makes an enormous difference, even without being slotted. You'll notice that every enemy in the video is using melee attacks exclusively... as long as you can force them into melee, you should still hit your soft defense cap pretty easily.

So I guess the differences in SR and Regen is SR they miss you a lot, Regen you heal a lot?

Correct. You may also be interested in Willpower, which basically marries many of the best parts of both these sets by reducing the damage you take allowing your HP regen to heal you more effectively than normal.

Regardless of your secondary, if you plan on AoE soloing or want more defensive options, broadsword and katana both make great primaries for scrappers because of Parry/Divine Avalanche.

sofar so good, hes lvl 23

but you didn't get hit ONCE!

In all fairness, I did get hit a few times. This was before elude, and Divine Avalanche wasn't defense slotted. But the point of the AoE soloing grind was that mobs were dropping so fast, you were pretty much gaurenteed to get inspirations as fast as you were using them.

Our trio hit 50 with a SK'd defender friend a few weeks ago AoE grinding. We're big fans. :P
