Cigar Vignette

Vignette for Inside Information: Cigar. In this vignette, regarding Allen Paulson's homebred Cigar, Bill Mott and Jerry Bailey discuss Cigar's first two wins under the care of Mott (after being previously trained by Alex Hassinger in California). In New York, Mike Smith rode Cigar to his first win under Mott's care, and when Bailey heard from Smith that the horse was the real deal on the dirt, he jumped at the chance to ride him when the opportunity came up. Cigar's first win of his 16 win streak is featured, an Allowance race at Aqueduct Racetrack on 10/28/94 (Mike Smith up), and then Bailey got the mount for his second win of the streak next out, and big jump in class, in the 1994 G.I NYRA mile.
