the fur on the bison is not hollow like deer so they stay warm in very cold weather.

Yes, it was very cold !!! Subzero and my hands and feet got a little numb standing there watching him. You can tell he is well insulated, the weather doesn't faze him.

He doesn't look as heavy as I expected. Still, a huge animal no doubt. Difficult to get prespective when the tree are far behind. How high was he at the shoulders?
