Mr Robert Chew, Chairman, IT Standards Committee. Robert is currently serving his second term as chairman for the IT Standards Committee (ITSC). At ITSC, he initiated codeXtreme Apps programming competition - a 24hr programming competition; its inaugural event in 2007 was carried out in collaboration with Google using Web 2.0 technologies. The competition was the first of its kind in Singapore and the region. Robert was instrumental in facilitating and formulating Singapore IT Federations (SiTF) recommendations to the iN2015 vision and strategy. While serving as a council member of SITF and as the Chairman of its Wireless Chapter in 2004-2006, Robert introduced programming and application development initiatives such as the I Want Windows Mobile series of competitions and seminars, organized jointly with Microsoft. As one of the early champions of mobile computing, he launched the annual WOW! events , the first of which was part of the telcos effort to introduce 3G services and subsequently to promote mobile user applications in industries such as manufacturing, logistics and healthcare.
