@bodybum He was not an alcoholic. That was just part of his schtick. There is no way he could have worked that hard and achieved that much if he was an alcoholic. It is widely known now that his glass usually contained apple juice or sometimes even water with ice cubes. He was too much of a professional to have appeared drunk on stage anywhere.

anyone that thinks these two are drunk during any of their performances obviously didn't know that era well. dean and frank were practically brothers, and whenever they performed, they had fun with it, not only to entertain the audience, but for themselves. yes they drank occasionally, and smoked, but have you met the italian singers in that time!? it would be weird if they didn't drink or smoke. in all, these two were amazing performers, and amazing people. full stop!
