  • The Beatles, Feb. 1968...

    One of the last really "fun" times in the studio...before India...before "The White Album"...before Yoko at every session...before EVERYTHING changed...

    One of their very best and certainly way overlooked !

    John's "state of consciousness" lyrics; Paul's thumping bass and sweet harmonies;

    George's killer guitar solo; Ringo's rock-steady drumming...

    The Beatles in the studio...it doesn't get any better than this !

  • suchh a turn on!!!!the beatles are talented gorgeous and amazing! loovee uu all!!

  • They shot this film to promote Lady maddona. They decided not to waste time in the studio and recorded Hey Bulldog. The video went out with the Lady M soundtrack.

    Agree with Dan 1963....both songs stand out.

  • @gtrDan1963 Hey you may be right about George and John soloing on Hey Bulldog.I got Both Marc Lewinsons books "The recording sessions and The Complete Beatle Files.So I have to look that up.Either way Hey Bulldog is the Most Killer Underated Beatle song.Its just manic. That double lead 12string solo that John and George do on "Bird can Sing" is my all time favorite.I remember George saying that his son asked him how that solo was done. was.rock on!!!

  • @frankty67 According to Mark Lewisohn's "Beatles' Recording Sessions", John's solos over the years are on: "You Can't Do That", "Every Little Thing", duet with George on "And Your Bird...", "Revolution", in unison with George on "Hey Bulldog" (John's low, George is high), "Yer Blues" (1st solo), both versions of "Get Back", "Come Together" and "I Want You"

    When the "Let It Be" LP solo is recorded on January 4,1970, John had left the band.

    Still...a great tune no matter what !

  • @gtrDan1963

    Dig it,I agree 100% with everything exept beieve it or not that is John playing the lead solo on Hey Bulldog.(Look it up in any Beatles recording sessions books,and there are many) John only played lead on just a few Beatles cuts.Like 'One after 909' on rooftop in Let it Be Movie, and a very few early Beatles cuts,also on the album version of Let it Be.George played lead on the single(45) version of Let it Be, and a few others john played lead on.Not many.

  • um this is not rare. on yellow submarine
