  • Any clue what year this was filmed?

  • Good question! This would date back to about 1968. Jack Toney had replaced Jake Hess and remained with the quartet until at least 1967. Jim Hill replaced Jack Toney in 1968 and he is in this video.

  • My all time favorite song...a real classic Gaither number, I never knew till this vid that the Statesmen had recorded it. I watche all you videos and love them all ,I want to thank you so much for adding real joy to YOU TUBE with so many great songs.

  • Yes... also one of my favorites and pleased that you enjoy viewing/listening to this classic. This song is also available on iTunes and just a bit sharper and crisper than this you-tube version.

  • Without a doubt, the BEST RENDITION of this song ever! Of course, I always loved the Statesmen and believe that "Big Chief" could do no wrong when singing in that melow Bass voice that he had. Super job and thanks for posting this. (I lost my old 33 1/3 long play in Hurricane Katrina)

  • Nice job. Big Chief had to get way up there. I guess that's why it made sense for Coy Cook to sing the solo part in the Senators' version of it. The lyrics are clearer in this video than the Senators.

  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amem.[Elvis Presley would be pleased to listen to this pearl of gospel.]

  • I, too, didn't know they had recorded my favorite song. Frankly, I didn't know it was that "old"! My husband died suddenly last year & I used it at his funeral. It has been a comfort to me all year.

  • God bless America!

As a Chinese, I am blessed enough to know the Lord here and to hear wonderful songs from this band!

  • Wonderful!

  • I didn't know the Statesmen did this song. I especially enjoy the soulful version by Lynda Randall from the Gaithers Homecoming Series

  • I've been a fan of the Statesmen since i first saw the Gaither videos. I've tried to understand what it is that's so powerful but, I can't :) Their vocals, style has stood the test of time. Wether it was w/Jake & Denver, Doy, Chief & Hovie or Jack, Rosey, etc.

  • What good does this song do if your just crying through it then? This is great.
