I only claimed I was good in response to a comment (a sarcastic one!) that I must be better than John Williams. I simply said I was good but not as good as John. I don't need to upload videos (I don't even know how) to prove anything, nor do I need to show "expressiveness" as I am not playing in front of 1000s of people.
@jamestampere Oh c'mon man. You are so proud of your self that you claim you are good. Your'e like a self-proclaimed superstar. What pieces do you play by the way? Can you upload some videos of yours that will make us see the "GOOD YOU" And do not use other guitarists name. show us how you do "expressiveness" . Also, your listeners are the ones who say you are good. You don't claim it for your self.
if you see my most recent comment you will see that I appreciate John Williams. He is an amazing player, technically brilliant and is one of the best ever. He just completely misses the whole point about classical guitar. In all of his performances there are parts of pieces he could improvise, improve and be expressive with and he does none of this. He just plays what is required. He is a brilliant player, but in my view totally boring to watch. I can listen to him and enjoy it but not watch.
No, does not mean this. He is quite expressive and brilliant technically, but he still misses the point. If you see other players, Stefan Rak for example, you will see how innovative and expressive they (Stefen is a perfect example) can be. John Williams is not very innovative and is not really expressive compared to some other players. He just does what is required. A brilliant player, but he misses the point in my opinion. I get bored watching him and I would never pay to see him play.
Does that mean you need to see your musicians prove their emotion with physical acting and histrionics? When I listen to John Williams I hear his natural expression through the sounds he produces.

Well I can see you're passionate about music and classical guitar and I certainly am not trying to persuade you in any way.
I'm most interested in knowing; What is 'the point' that John is missing?
