Benny Morris: Jewish refugees from Arab states (2/2)

Professor Benny Morris gives a lecture about Jewish refugees from Arab states after 1948. Firstly he describes the relation between Jews and Arabs since the time of Muhammed. Jews and Christians (dhimmi) were always subject to supression in Islamic countries.

The lecture was given in Norway 6 June 2009.

progroms are just an excuse to go and invade Palestine ! Why do they never try to explain that so called "pogroms" ? Its the same with hitler : they suffered a barbarian treatment but they never talk about jewish activities before 1933 .

Every body has suffered but not exagerate and not use it for political and unhuman goals. Please. Look now the what the so called "progrom victims" are doing in the arab-islamic world and the rest of Africa . A true victim never dreams of killing but peace.

Israel has murdered tens of thousands of Palestinians AND Arabs, during the Nakbah and wars against/occupation of Egypt, West Bank, Gaza, Golan Heights, Lebanon, etc. For instance, over 20,000 Arabs were killed in Israel’s occupation of Lebanon alone.

@alonee810 Sorry, but Jewish brutalization of Palestinians is not some past event they are "whining" about because they like to complain. It continues to this day, as the Israeli government continues to steal their land in the West Bank and starve and murder them in Gaza. It is hard to "move on" when the murder continues. Also, when a victim is brutalized, the burden is not on the victim to "move on." The burden is on the aggressor to stop. So maybe you need to tell your fellow Israelis to stop.

Turks committed atrocities against Greeks, therefore Israel should be able to commit atrocities against Palestinians... this is poor logic. Do you think the Armenians should stop complaining about their genocide by the Turks? Also, Israel's atrocities against Palestinians didn't end in 1948. Since 67 Israel has brutally occupied the West Bank and Gaza. For decades Israel occupied Lebanon. Israel has murdered many tens of thousands and Palestinians and you think they are being "emotionalistic?"

Morris reveals the Palestinians' emotionalistic gross enhanction of their rather common "tragedy".

After all, what had happened to them ? Yes they've lost their homes but so many other peoples in the world. You don't hear the Greeks whine about the "criminal" Turks who stole their land and expeled them. Nor do the Germans who were violently expeled from many parts of Europe under an international concent (if not encouregment).
