thank you for this post. I was physically, emotionally, and sexually abused. I was also ignored by police and appropriate authorities when reporting these experiences. I was sexually assaulted by peers outside of familial abuse, and that added another element of confusion- It took me a long to call that incident abuse.

NO a child under 18 should not be having sex, young people are to easily manipulated by more expeirenced adults to have sex adn it is not right, sex is NOT like driving a car, it is FAR more improtant and has FAR more consequences, like driving a car does not hert you, but being manipulated into having sex DOES HERT CHILDREN

The idea isn't that they shouldn't be having sex under the age of 18, it is they shouldn't be having sex with adults when they are under a certain age as there is a serious power imbalance. I suppose people are questioning what that age should be and why.

I don't think you should ever wish you were physically abused. I know what you're going through. I was neglected, physically, emotionally, and mentally abused for 13 years. I just got out a few weeks ago. But when I was physically abused I didn't have the bruises to show for it because I don't bruise (but I have proof I was abused.) You can take a bat and smash me in the head with it and I won't be able to feel it at all.
