I grew up seeing my sister and my mom wearing makeup, and never thought they needed it, and overall, I have always thought that women look better without makeup (you included!). Makeup is used as a means of presentation in every circumstance, but women and girls in many cultures feel compelled to wear it in order to not feel inferior (that is to say, to feel better about themselves) which I think causes one to demean their own character or self, aside from appearance. If that makes sense.
