Storms rolled through the Los Padres National Forest and the Ojai Valley, leaving a modest blanket of snow in the mountains that envelope the 30,000 valley residents. Half and hour up the Maricopa Highway led us to Rose Valley and the half mile walk out to the grand waterfall. Cars pulled over into muddy, icy turnouts as kids played, laughed and made snowmen in the snow.
Used to go up to Rose Valley in the early seventies and drop acid and watch the stars fall and strange objects streak across the sky...
