She's a good home cook...but that's it."

I adore her.

Sorry, have I missed something? I am English and don't get to see all of her shows so I'm not sure what all this talk of children with cancer is about and how it connects to Ina. Someone please explain.
-
How could you not love this woman? I'm not sure what the controversy is about, but I can't help but love her. She's smart, classy, and the girl can cook!
-
@sailorjoy she primarily a business woman
-
What does she mean when she says she doesn't have time to cook? All her life consists of is cooking.

1.) If something like this was not brought to her attention, she seriously needs to fire someone.
2.) If she's aware of it, it would be nice on her part to visit the sick child. It's good karma and good for her image, too. But that's just my opinion.
I completely get your point. But as a celebrity cook/chef, your image is what you use to sell your show and products. So if she was aware of this and still chose not to, she's either arrogant or stupid.

@ttiiyy Apparently she actually wasn't aware of the request personally and once she found out about it she decided she'd like to do it. Celebrities get so many requests for so many things that they are not always personally aware of them all. They usually have managers to handle most things like that. Even if she was aware of the request, it is still her right to decide to do it or not and she shouldn't be bullied into doing something that she doesen't want to do or isn't able to do.

@fabtastic2 So what exactly changed her mind in the end?
She is under no obligation to do anything for anyone. It is well known that she supports many charities. I wonder how many of you would drop all of your responsibilities, job etc. for a charity. Is she supposed to give up everything she has going on in her life everytime somebody wants her time or money? She can't be all things to all people. Sometimes you have to say no.

That's what she means. No personal time.
Anyway, the new book is amazing. It really does express all the things she says.
As for the Make a Wish "situation." People are so quick to judge when we have no idea what charitable acts Ms Garten and her company perform yearly.
This is another media invented, web supported story with out FACTS,
You can't imagine the every celebrity can fulfill every single request they receive. That is an absurd expectation.
We love you Ina!!!!
