I've just watched this movie.... the "wind" :) was sooooo sexy... :D and mei is gorgeous too... :) I really loved it! it's worth watching... :)

"House of Flying Daggers" and "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" is one of the best martial movies, the new movies about martial arts are craps, I can't see them more than 10 minutes!

always astonishing to see moments of 'east meets west' where the result just works

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is far better than HOFD and HOFD is an amazing movie.

Don't watch it until you find the subtitled version, dubs are always horrible and this is no exception!
It's totally worth buying on DVD, or even Blu-Ray if you have the hardware.

@Windurin I'm getting a subbed version soon... how high would you rate the realism of this movie? It's kinda well known these movie tend to have those unrealistic things in it, and since i'm doing martial arts myself i kind of prefer the more realistic ones. Looking at the trailers this one doesn't seem too realistic, but with a great story... Is that the right impression? Also, do you know any movies i might enjoy with martial arts? thanks :D

It's not rea;isitc at all, it's very stylised and almost fantastical. But it's a beautiful film, the fights and the camera work are graceful and the ending packs an emotional punch. The story is a little cliche - a Eastern Romeo and Juliet/tragic love triangle of sorts, but watch it for the visuals and the drama.

is there any other film similar to this?...ive watched the curse of the golden flowers b ut still think house of f.daggers is better any recommendations?

Have you seen 'Hero' by the same director? I still think HOFD is better, but Hero is still great.
