Valkyria Chronicles™

Valkyria Chronicles™, the first game from SEGA Studios - Japan to utilize the groundbreaking CANVAS graphics engine, features a stunningly unique visual style resembling a watercolor painting in motion. Created exclusively for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, this epic role-playing game also marks the debut of the BLiTZ battle system, which combines tactical RPG gameplay with direct character control common in action games.

In this epic adventure set in 1930s fictitious Europe, you assume the role of Welkin, a heroic commander who leads his small platoon against two neighboring enemy nations on the brink of war. As Welkins small country is engulfed in battle, the Valkyria, an ancient race with destructive powers, emerges in the invading faction. Faced with this new threat, Welkin and his troops gather their courage to fight as never before for their freedom and a better future.

  • Sega should make more games like this, forget about Sonic, and make Skies of Arcadia , or shenmue

  • This game is a classic. The first true JRPG masterpiece on a next gen system. I can't recommend this game enough!

  • @greenremixv2 Your loss man

  • I would play it, if it wasnt turn based

  • @diddykongfu Hey, i've made that comment a year ago , i should take back my word on Sonic, since Sonic 4 and Sonic colors are both great, so i'll say Sega should continue being awesome.

  • @PullusPardus skies of arcadia lol i loved that damn game

  • hey no problem.

but i wouldnt recommend this as a starter RPG game. it is good but more for the average RPG gamer. may i recommend having a look at the Square-Enix website? if you want more options on RPG games square-enix is the king of rpg makers. also Atlus and Tri-ace has some other good ones. if you have a PS2 you could check out final fantasy 10 and the Persona series. those are very fine examples of RPGs. also if you want action rpg try Kingdom hearts and star cean 3.

  • Thanks for the update....I'm getting it as a gift and wanted to know if it was good for someone starting out in RPG territory.

  • chocobo tales is a sad excuse of a final fantasy game. i havent tried crystal chronicals so i dont know about that.

anyways this isnt a full shooter game. its kinda like free roam chess and some shooter elements. you move to a spot and choose a target but you dont really play it as a shooter. there is a demo on PSN for free. try it out to get a better look for yourself.
