Now onto Wheel Gator. It's arguably easier to fight him before Wire Sponge, but I choose the latter first so I can get the arm upgrade early here. Using S. Chain on Gator with the right timing can also get him stuck in a hit loop, which I didn't do very well here, but I did get it going once.
This took me several tries to get a run that pleased me, and as such it ended up being quite refined. The only mistake that springs to mind here is getting hit by one of the shield enemies, which didn't slow me down too much. Gator could've been a bit better, but I did get him in a hit loop, so that was nice.
Also, as I state in the video, I attatched a clip of a cheap way to get the Heart tank in this level. It works by exploiting the invincibility period you have after getting hit. You get hit by the enemy's attack as far to the left as possible, then rush over to the spikes and leap up them. It's tricky, but with proper timing you can pull it off.
Alright, how the fuck do you do the wire trick to get the arm upgrade? I've done it about twice before, but now I can never get it right. EVER. It pisses me off that Capcom would design the game this way and force you to do such backtrack to get an upgrade like this.

@BaconStein Well, to be fair, i'm not sure it was an intended trick. The timing is pretty tricky, it's just something you have to practice. Pay close attention to where I jump and when I use the grappling hook, it's all about finding the right spot.
