  • We lost a member of Los Angeles Gospel Messenger and Southern California Community choir, Michelle "Mickey" Calhoun. She was a great alto. She is survived by her daughter, Tunisha, one sister, and mother, Dorothy Calhoun.

  • I really thank you for commenting and what you say in your comment, it encourages me to keep pressing on. Yes I do remember you because you such an unusual name here. Couldn't forget it.

  • This has always been one of my favorite Michael Harris & One songs. I especially like the part that says

    "Hatredness and jealousy

    Brotherhood is dying out

love is what we really need

    Nobody's buying

Seems they all are turning back

some don't but they are few"

Choose to stay in the race.

The choice is up to you!

  • Two of my nephew's friends who were close to me and my family went off to college and got into big big trouble and now face spending time in prison for their actions. They were normal children who made bad choices and the system has them. Everything was done to prevent this but the ultimate choice was theirs -- not to be caught up!!!

  • Rod Stewart Tradewinds Lyrics: (MacDonald / Salter) Here I stand looking, looking around me While all around me what do I see Unhappy faces behind a painted smile Heartache and loneliness dressed up in modern style Unhappy people living in sin and shame Reflections of myself, life is no easy game We're caught in the trade winds The trade winds of our time

  • I love this song. It was originally sung by Roberta Flack, I think, however, later covered by Rod Stewart.

It was written by Ralph MacDonald; William Salter.
